Hello all!

64 pounds of produce delivered to Bellingham Food Bank. Apples, grapes, zucchini, kale, tomatoes, and anything I’m forgetting.

By the way, I stand corrected. The food bank is on Ohio Street, not Iowa. As soon as I came up to Iowa while on James Street, I knew it was the next light and a right turn onto Ohio.

Carol, hope all is going well with your tree trimming. You were missed today but we’ll see you next week.

Yummies....is that a word? LOL.   Well gang, how does 218.7 LBS sound to you? We had apples, pears, kale, squash, tomatoes, cucumbers and  peppers. Always feel like I missed something. I do think Fran won the bet with her guess at 165LBS. Nice work.

Hi all,

We delivered 117 lbs of deliciousness to the Bellingham Food Bank today. We had Asian pears, apples, squash, peppers, tomatoes, basil, kale, beets and a few more berries. 

After we finished harvesting today, Fran treated us all to her famous sour cherry crisp. DELISH and thank you.

Hi all,

We delivered some beauties today to the Bellingham food Bank. Actually, 122 lbs worth to be exact.  We had cucumbers, pears, squash, berries, tomatoes, beans, peppers, what am I forgetting?  We also planted carrots, lettuce, radishes and spinach today. Not too shabby!  Thanks especially to Sheri for her contribution.

Howdy,

We delivered 135 lbs of beautiful produce today to the Bellingham Food Bank.  Our donation included Beans, Eggplant, Cucumbers, Squash, Tomatoes, Basil, Kale, Peppers, Peaches, Pears and some berries. We also harvested some winter squash to cure and will deliver it in the future.  Great food and terrific company. Until next time.

Hi all, 

What a great day in the garden today. Naomi was our celebrity guest joining us just like the ole days getting her picking right away. We all shared lunch together after the work was done so thank you Fran for offering your house to us. Such special friendships to be apart of. We donated 121 lbs of lovely food today to the Bellingham Food Bank. Fantastic! 

Great to see you Naomi and know you are missed.

Hi all, 

We donated some pretty produce today. 84 lbs to be exact! We had tomatoes. Squash, kale,(something else that Fran packed 😬), blackberries, blueberries, a few peppers, beets and some lovely cucumbers both from the farm and Sheri’s garden. It was a good day but Ellen and Sheri were missed.

a brief history

  just had the opportunity to share my invitation to join the funny farm gang with strangers met today.....in 2016 i was invited to join...when they told me they were the funny farm i immediately thought this was a perfect fit for a retired psych nurse.....what a great journey!  and quick history we had 2 farms going then.  the homeowners providing our farmland were so organized...we spent 2 hours at each farm weekly,,,  made it so possible to do!!!   i was allowed to bring my amateur documentarian skills to create this blog.....it has been such a pleasure to be in this gang and feeling like we were doing something very valuable for our community.   and it will be even more so in these times

oh and from Fran last year,,,,

 I came up with 1,010.5 lbs. Not bad for a somewhat smaller plot that was planted July 2 with mostly transplants. That includes contributions from some of your own gardens as well, of course.
