Today Tom and I delivered 180 lbs of Fran's squash!

Special thanks to Melanie and Tom for delivering our last contribution to the food bank for this season.  That makes a grand total of 3,286 lbs of gorgeous fruit and vegetables donated for the year - 157 lbs more than our previous best in 2017!

Hi Everyone,

We donated 50lbs of lovely fruit and vegetables to the food bank today.  And I ordered more baggies.  They will be here on Saturday!

In case anyone is interested to hear the podcasts I was raving about go to:  On Point npr.  The title is “The Longest War”.  There are four programs, each about forty five minutes long.  I highly recommend the first two.  Haven’t heard the last two yet.

Hi Everyone,

With huge amounts of help from friends of Sherri and Carol, we were able to donate an impressive 85 lbs of delicious fruits and veggies to the food bank today.  Sherri brought pears and Asian pears, and Carol brought apples, and I’m guessing that between them, they donated about 50 lbs.   So, many thanks to both friends, and to you two for schlepping them.

We donated a fantabulous 95 lbs of produce, including the oversized beauties from Fran’s neighbor, to the food bank today.   Roland said they have a tote out front of the  F.B. now, where they stash the biggies (like they did in the before times) so anyone can take what they want.  I guess the pigs take second dibs.

Hi Everyone -

The good news is:

that we donated 66 lbs. of amazing greens, beets, chard, lettuce, peas and rhubarb to the Bellingham food bank today, so with the 50 lbs from Fran’s garden  that went to Ferndale food bank, we are at 116 lbs for the day.  How about them apples!

Now for the great news:

the Bellingham food bank will be open once again beginning on July 12, so we will no longer have to worry about the size of our lettuce!
