We donated an amazing 640 lbs of winter squash to the food bank today. Our total donations to date amount to 2,454 pounds! Not too sloppy for such a motley crew. eh? Congratulations all round.

Hi All,
We donated 41 lbs of veggies to the food bank today.
It was such a lovely day yesterday, and I was aware that the forecast for today was to be rainy, so I wanted to harvest what I could to get ahead of the curve. Sorry to tell you that, apart from the plant near the garage, the tomatoes are toast - and the squash vines don't look too cheerful, either. There must have been a frost that nobody heard about. Roger's bean pyramid survived though, and I harvested a lot of beans. Also salvaged whatever tomatoes looked viable, pulled some carrots, beets and parsnips. Today, I did the broccoli and kale, and humped a few of the squash to the car. Had a lovely time.

We donated 50 lbs of veggies to the food bank today, in spite of there not being a lot to harvest. Some Delicata squash made the difference.. Don't worry Naomi - there are still plenty. Fran harvested them as the vines were dead.

The name of the grocery on Ohio used to be Cash & Carry and is now Smart Grocery Services.
Google "Tucker Budzyn" for a few doggy laughs. The ones where she is feeding them veggies are pretty funny.

we meet and plan and harvest
"Lovely to see you all again this morning, not to mention getting our hands dirty too.
The take to the food bank was a whopping 9 lbs. - not a bad start for the new year.
Nothing too exciting by way of seeds but I found some bush beans and a couple of
winter squash. I'll do some more nosing around in the coming weeks.
